Security and video surveillance
Solarneo has developed video surveillance solutions adapted to the photovoltaic greenhouse. The site in Cahors has been able to test a number of anti-intrusion systems and to lift doubts beyond the recommendations made by the insurers. Each Solarneo site is protected by latest-generation systems, so that the risk is limited. For each site, in addition to the video surveillance centre, key people have live access to the images from the various high-resolution cameras using their mobile phone or laptop. In the event of an intrusion, an alert is sent immediately by SMS and e-mail to our farmer-partner. In the event of an intrusion coupled with a call to the technical centre, a team of security guards is mobilised on the spot in less than half an hour.
Solarneo is the only company in France to have developed and installed three photovoltaic greenhouses for market gardening that are connected to the grid.
In 2007 Solarneo installed the first photovoltaic greenhouse in France, in Cannes. The greenhouse is operated by market gardeners in the Siagne valley, and has been producing vegetables for the past three years. This first conclusive experiment led to the deployment of another plastic photovoltaic greenhouse covering more than one hectare of land in Cahors. The greenhouse produces 362 kW, and is used by a market gardener for organic produce.
Having demonstrated the validity of the plastic greenhouse, Solarneo continued its development with the glass photovoltaic greenhouse. The greenhouse installed in Italy is the first in a series of multichapel glass greenhouses. Further projects for both plastic and glass greenhouses covering several hectares are currently in hand in France.
